You won't find a chain logo or a corporate mission statement at Velasquez Bar. What you'll find is exactly what you walked in for: a cold drink, a comfortable chair, and the kind of atmosphere that only comes from being a genuine part of a town.

Cotulla doesn't do pretense, and neither do we. We opened our doors on Thornton Street with a simple belief — that a bar should feel like the third place between home and work, where the coffee is just as good as the beer and nobody's keeping track of the clock.

Over the years, we've watched the town change, but some things stay the same. The regulars still hold court at the counter. The newcomers still find their way in. And the drinks still pour steady.
